Spirit Filled Week-end at the Fayetteville, North Carolina SDA Church!

Greetings brethren! God is good – all the time! On the week-end of June 10-11, 2006 we enjoyed the fellowship of the Holy Spirit at the Fayetteville SDA Church. Pastor John Huskins invited us to the church and was at the meetings encouraging the members to work for souls. We found the church members to be very supportive and hungry to win souls. The church has a plan called PATH to win 100 new souls in the next two years.

Some of the 13 Bible worker graduates

The members got seven new Bible studies by Sunday morning, and the excitement was high. My wife Mary Ann was in the forefront of the search for souls and got two studies by phone, one with a neighbor of ours in Boone, and one with a niece of mine! Pastor John gave a great testimony about how he was a “moralist” who found real friendship and new life with Jesus! Army major Tom Netzel also gave a powerful testimony as did Maria Hamilton and Kathi McFadden. Above left is a few of the 13 Bible workers that completed all four sessions.

Pastor John Huskins giving his testimony

It was a pleasure for MaryAnn, Paul and myself to share soul winning principles from the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy at a church that is serious about personal evangelism. Pastor John and his wife Sherryl and family have been ministering at Fayetteville for seven years. The church has already sporned a Spanish congregation and a Korean congregation! We are glad that we were able to add to their evangelism plans. Elder Dale Pollett will be holding meetings there in the fall and we did what we could to encourage each member to have someone to bring to the meetings. God bless Pastor John and the leaders as they work for the Lord.  Keep them in your prayers!

New! Bible Prophecy Made Simple Three Week-end Evangelism Program for 2006

To go along with the new book we are printing called Bible Prophecy Made Simple, we will be doing two three week-end long Bible Prophecy Made Simple series for 2007. These will be held on three successive Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights for a total of nine meetings. The cost for the series of meetings will be $4500 plus the cost of special post card mailings to zip codes in your area. We are asking the Master for the two churches to hold these meetings in 2007. If you are interested, call. We will be able to do just two nine meeting series per year.

FEED THE SHEPHERDS! – Now over 300 ministers of other faiths have received the Doug Batchelor DVD and Kevin Morgan’s Sabbath Rest CD. We have reports from WBAJ and Amazing Facts that many ministers have asked for studies and downloaded or purchased materials!  Pray for these men and women who are serving the Lord to the best of their knowledge and ability! Plan to sponsor ministers in your area too!

LET GO AND LET GOD!

By Pastor Tony Cirigliano

Preached at Banner Elk, NC May 27, 2006

Years ago, a committee of ministers in a certain city was discussing the possibility of having D.L Moody to serve as the evangelist during a city-wide evangelistic campaign Finally, a young minister who wanted to do the preaching himself got up and said, “Why Moody? Does he have a monopoly on the Holy Spirit?” There was silence. Then an old godly minister spoke up: “No Moody does not have a monopoly on the Holy Spirit; but the Holy Spirit has a monopoly on D.L Moody!” Moody let go and he let God have His way in his life. The results of his life speak of what can happen when we are sold out for the Lord!

Today we will take a look at Ephesians 4 and verses 31-32. Open your Bibles please to these verses. Verse 31 begins with a little three letter word “Let.”  Let is a little word froth with meaning! These two verses have no power without the human will, yet with the will these verses hold the secret for a happy life, a happy marriage, and a happy future! This little word “let” is found in many places in the Bible and shows how for sanctification the will must be aligned with the power of God. We cannot save ourselves by any works we can do – both the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy make this clear.

Ephesians 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

“I ask, how can I present this matter as it is? The Lord Jesus imparts all the powers, all the grace, all the penitence, all the inclination, all the pardon of sins, in presenting His righteousness for man to grasp by living faith--which is also the gift of God. If you would gather together everything that is good and holy and noble and lovely in man and then present the subject to the angels of God as acting a part in the salvation of the human soul or in merit, the proposition would be rejected as treason . . . Any works that man can render to God will be far less than nothingness. My requests are made acceptable only because they are laid upon Christ's righteousness. The idea of doing anything to merit the grace of pardon is fallacy from beginning to end. "Lord, in my hand no price I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling." - Faith & Works, p. 24.

So it is plain that nothing we can do can add to our salvation – or even have a part in it. Then why the importance of this little word “let”? Well here it is, “by the works of the law, shall no flesh be justified.” BUT – Everyone who will be saved and sanctified must have “works of the will.” What are works of the will? Here they are: believe, repent, come unto Me, confess, be baptized, resist the devil, reckon yourselves dead to sin, let not sin reign in your mortal body, let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. These are works of the will, and when you have a will to serve God and to live a holy life – Yahweh adds to your will and gives you the desires of your heart! He works in you causing you to “will and to do” His good pleasure! Inspiration tells us, “Everything depends on the right action of the will.” And so our two Scripture verses for today start with the word “Let.”

The two verses in Ephesians 4 tell us to let certain things be put away from us – put out of our lives. We are to let six specific things go

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

And we are to do three vitally important things!

32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted (affectionate), forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Bitterness is holding a grudge. Bitterness has destroyed many marriages and ruined many lives! Bitterness is like acid in a wooden cup, it does more damage to the cup holding it than to anything else! Bitterness is so poisonous that the Bible says it can cause many to be defiled. Turn with me to Hebrews 12, verses 14 & 15.

14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many are defiled;

To be defiled means to be lost because it says in Revelation that nothing that defiles will enter heaven! Notice it mentions a “root” of bitterness – roots are hidden deep in the earth. A root of bitterness can be hidden deep in the heart and only the heavenly Surgeon with the surgical knife of His Word that can divide between bone and marrow and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart can remove it from your heart. The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Even your own heart can be fooling you – there is a way that seems right, but the Bible says it’s all wrong! Ephesians 4 says let all bitterness go! Put it away from you for heaven’s sake!

The next thing Ephesians 4:31 tells us to let go is wrath and anger. The Greek word translated “wrath” is “thumos” and means “fierce”, or “too passionate.” It is having passions like a piano wire ready to snap because it is wound too tight. We need to loosen up a bit – let that go by the power of the Holy Spirit. Gary Smally wrote a book called – Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, and his sub-title was “It’s all small stuff!” Friends in the light of eternity, it the light that streams from the cross of Christ – it’s all small stuff in comparison! Wrath is fierceness and passion, and anger is from the Greek word “orgay” from which the word orgy is derived. It means uncontrolled passion. It is a perverted act of the mind!

Proverbs 19:11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

Proverbs 27:4 says “anger is outrageous.”

Wrath and anger is an outrage against heaven and against holiness and invites the devil to rule the mind! Uncontrolled anger has led to much pain and many deaths both to the angry one and the one who receives the abuse of the angry one. I recall reading somewhere in the Spirit of Prophecy writings that when a person is controlled by anger, they are possessed by the devil! We can pity those who let the devil control them, and also realize that the devil is the one behind it.

When someone is angry, try and use the Bible way to turn away wrath – it is a quiet answer. Trying to argue back or yell back at someone who is angry is like grabbing a tiger by the tail! Like bitterness, anger can have roots hidden deep in the heart. Jesus the heavenly heart surgeon gives heart transplants! By God’s grace, and His Holy Spirit combining with your will anger and wrath can be defeated! You can have the power to let anger and wrath go!

I saw in a store an “anger ball.” When you’re angry you throw it and when it hits something it sounds like glass breaking. As followers of the Savior, we don’t need “anger balls” – we have the Holy Spirit! Yahweh our heavenly Father will make a way to escape.  Use prayer, and a quiet answer. In Proverbs 29:22 it is written: “An angry man stirreth up strife and a furious man aboundeth in transgression” Friends, today you can let bitterness and anger go by the grace of God!

Ephesians 4:31 tells us to let go a fourth evil trait of character. We are told to let all clamor which literally means “an outcry” or “shouting” go. The Greek work translated “clamor” can also be translated “tumult” – a battle out of control. Remember a “quiet answer turns away wrath”! Shouting stirs up anger and leads to a multitude of sins! Brothers and sisters, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can let all bitterness, and wrath and anger, and shouting be put away from our spirits by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit!

The verse also tells us to put away “evil speaking.” The Greek word used there is “blasphemia.” This is speaking evil against Yahweh, or His servants. It is gossip and tale bearing with a religious slant aimed at Yahweh, His Son, His church, or His servants or fellow believers. Remember David when Saul was trying to kill him? He had opportunities to slay Saul who was intent on slaying him. But he said, “God forbid that I should touch Yahweh’s anointed”! O that there were many Davids in the church not returning evil for evil!

If the Lord does not forget even a cup of cold water you give to His servant – promising a reward for the kind deed. What will he think of those who cause harm to, abuse or slander His servants? He won’t forget that either and it will be paid back. In Psalm 105:14, talking about His people, Yahweh our heavenly Father said: “I suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, I reproved kings for their sakes; 15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” Brothers and sisters let evil speaking go! Put it away from you!

Lastly the verse tells us to let “malice” go. The Greek word translated “malice” is “krakeeah” and it means “depravity and wickedness.” Years ago Ellen White wrote of the depravity in theatres of her day – that was before TV, HBO, and Computer Pornography! Now depravity and wickedness comes into your homes easier than ever.

We are to let that go – let it be put away! The Holy angels won’t stand by to witness that kind of “malice” against the Lord. Evil angels are drawn to that and the mind created to be noble and seated in heavenly places in Yahshua the Messiah is reduced to depravity and malice. Jesus’ Word says, “Let it go! Put it away from you!”

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Let it go and let God create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit. What is done in the dark will be shouted from the house-tops Jesus said. Every idle word that men shall speak they shall give account on the Day of Judgment the Savior said. But when we ask for forgiveness, the record is made clean – sins are forgiven – a new start is given. David said Yahweh’s mercy is “new every morning”!

In verse 32 of Ephesians four, the Lord tells us to do three things. First he says, “Be kind” to one another. Kindness is one of the greatest Christian virtues. We are told this:   “The Lord Jesus is our only helper. Through His grace we shall learn to cultivate love, to educate ourselves to speak kindly and tenderly. Through His grace our cold, harsh manners will be transformed. The law of kindness will be upon our lips, and those who are under the precious influences of the Holy Spirit, will not feel that it is an evidence of weakness to weep with those who weep, to rejoice with them that rejoice. We are to cultivate heavenly excellences of character. We are to learn what it means to have good-will toward all men, a sincere desire to be as sunshine and not as shadow in the lives of others. {AG      Seize every opportunity to contribute to the happiness of those around you, sharing with them your affection. Words of kindness, looks of sympathy, expressions of appreciation, would to many a struggling, lonely one be as a cup of cold water to a thirsty soul. . . . – Amazing Grace, p. 299.

Be ye kind! Husbands be ye kind to your wives. Wives, be ye kind to your husbands. Parents, be kind to your children. Children, be kind to your parents. Be ye kind!

When Mrs. Booth who even more than her husband was the life of the Salvation Army was a little girl, she was playing in the street rolling a hoop with a stick when she saw a teen-age prisoner being led away to jail by the constable. The people were calling him names and jeering at him, and this touched the heart of the young girl. She said it seemed to her that this young boy did not have a friend in the world. She went up to him and persisted until the constable let her hold the boy’s hand, and she did so and walked beside him all the way to the jail-house. She said that she was determined to let that boy know that there was one soul who cared about him even if he did wrong. That’s kindness!     Jesus has been so kind to us. Be ye kind one to another”!

In Ephesians 4:32 the Word tells us to be “tender-hearted” toward each other. The Greek word translated “tender-hearted” is the word “eusplangnos” and means “compassionate”, and is derived from the word “splangnon” which means “inner affection and sympathy.” Many Bibles translate the word as “affectionate.” The Bible says be affectionate to one another especially with your own family. You’ve heard of the experiment with monkeys done years ago to see how important a touch and affection is. They left young baby monkeys alone without the embrace or hugs of their mother. The monkeys that had no affection did very poorly, and many died. They say we need several hugs a day to maintain good health.

Husbands be affectionate to your wife and to your children. And the same with wives and mothers! One day Yahshua Jesus is going to put a crown on our heads and hug us and welcome us into the kingdom. In the Bible the word “hug” is not found, but instead it uses the words “fell on his neck” to mean an embrace.

Genesis 33:4
And
Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.

Genesis 45:14
And he fell upon his brother
Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

Genesis 46:29
And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

Luke 15:20
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Ellen White wrote: “You need not be worried. . . when the time comes that the test shall come to God's people . . . the everlasting arms are around you. The angels of God will make a wall of fire around about and deliver you.” The Upward Look, p. 283.

Like the father fell on his son’s neck, so your heavenly Father longs to hug you and I. He is always affectionate to us. Let us be affectionate to one another!

And lastly in Ephesians 4:32 we are told to “forgive one another as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven us.” Forgive as Christ forgave! He forgave the ones who were nailing Him to the cross. The Bible says He forgives all manner of sin and transgression. He casts our sins behind His back. He throws them into the depths of the sea. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! If he can forgive us so much, how can we possible have unforgiveness in our heart?

Remember the story of the man who was forgiven a great debt, and then when and choked one who owed him a tiny amount. When the ruler heard of this, all the debt cam back on the man and he was thrown into prison till he paid the last penny! Listen to what  the Lord told us about this story.

Matthew 28:28-35: But the same servant  went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. 29 And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.  30And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.  31 So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.  32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, and I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:  33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee?  34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.  35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Oh if the words of Ephesians 4:32-33 were let come to pass in the lives of God’s people, what a change would take place in the Israel of God! Let all bitterness go! Let anger and wrath go! Let evil speaking go! Let shouting go! Let the perverseness of malice go! And let Yahweh the Creator put in your heart kindness, affection, compassion, and forgiveness!

In our home Mary Ann and I have these two verses in a frame on our kitchen wall and as many mornings as we can, we read them together and pray that the Holy Spirit will put these traits in our hearts! I want to be like Yahshua Jesus – My Lord and Savior. He loves me. He loves you. Let go of what’s not worth holding, to make room for what you can’t let go! – Maranatha – PTC

One Year into This Ministry!

We pray that this ministry and newsletter has been a blessing to you. We want to thank you for your prayers and support. Each month as we visit new churches and add names to the mailing list, the ministry is growing. We have many plans that Yahweh has impressed us to go forward with. We plan to extend the outreach to non-Adventist ministers and plan to meet with some of the pastors of the largest churches as follow up to the mailings of Doug Batchelor’s DVDs and Pastor Kevin Morgan’s CD. We want to publish several books and new sets of Bible studies and also produce TV commercials for Bible studies that can be aired nation-wide. We would like to train young men and women to give the Soul Winning Made Simple Seminar in churches all across America. We trust Yahweh for the means to do this.

For the last several months since MaryAnn has not been able to work I sell signs and advertising specialties to businesses a few days a week and I also created a business creating web-ads for businesses. Added to the generous offerings of those who believe in the work, we have been more than sustained. Yahweh is faithful and we will ever trust in him. David said, “I have been young, and now I am old, I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” He is more than good – Yahweh is great! We still have challenges. We are still looking for a health plan for us. Being over 50 with some pre-existing conditions makes this a challenge. We are currently looking into group insurance for TCM. Keep that matter in prayer. We also have had some uncalled for opposition to the ministry and bad reports sent out because of ignorance of the work, but nothing can be done against the truth – only for it, and we pray for the ones hindering the work that Yahweh not judge them too harshly. And as misunderstandings disappear and the people see that the work is for the Lord and His church, we know there will be more than enough calls to meet. We only pray for strength and health to do what we can while we can. Soon we’ll see Yahshua Jesus our Savior and Lord!

Many things have been provided for us. This month makes it a year since we embarked on this faith mission, and we are thoroughly pleased and grateful to Yahweh our heavenly Father for making it possible and for the blessings we have seen this year. We have seen His Spirit at work in many lives and churches where we have been. Many stories could be told of lives given to Jesus and hearts changed – of healings that have taken place, and of people’s faith being renewed and decisions made for baptism! There are many challenges ahead and many new things to do. Our family is together and happy in Jesus. We thank him for every day we have. We’re living our dream. We’re doing a work that we know is desperately needed. We don’t want more than we have. Our bills are paid. Our boss is Yahweh. He’s on His throne. All’s right with the world! Thanks again for your prayers, friendship and support. We know Yahweh will bless those who give even a cup of cold water to His servants. We love you all! – Pastor Tony, Mary Ann and Paul Cirigliano
