Fourteen Ministers Now Doing SDA Bible Studies!

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a blessed Christmas! Here is some good news to report in our first newsletter for 2006. There are now 14 ministers doing Bible studies from our Feed the Shepherds part of our ministry! Two hundred five ministers in 38 cities and 16 states have received Doug Batchelor’s Final Events DVD and Pastor Kevin Morgan’s Sabbath Rest CD plus a special Bible enrollment card and letter! This is exciting and we know that Yahweh will continue to bless these shepherds of other faiths. We will report to you when some of these ministers join the Adventist Church. It surely will happen as the Lord’s truth does not return void without accomplishing its purpose!

Here are some ministers who have recently received Truth Packets. I thought it would be nice to put some faces on our Feed the Shepherds report this month. Here is Bishop Dr. Yvette Flunder. She pastors the City of Refuge Church in San Francisco, California. This is a 604 member congregation that she has started. She is the 203^rd minister to receive the Truth Packets. Pray for her and her ministry that the material sent to her will be a true blessing from on high for her and her ministry.

Pastor Paul Tellström pastors the Mount Hollywood Congregational Church in Hollywood, California. He is the President of Hope-Net, an interfaith non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and homelessness in the city. Sixteen sponsoring congregations (including Mt. Hollywood) make up this organization by supporting a network of food pantries throughout the Wilshire corridor. In addition to food pantries that operate throughout the week, Hope-Net owns Hope-West Apartments, a 17 unit low income apartment complex, and the Hope-Chest, a thrift shop at 1451 S. Robertson Blvd. On February 14, 2001, He received the Paul Rothman Humanitarian Award. This award was given in honor of his service to the fight against HIV/AIDS by AIDS ReSearch Alliance. The award was presented by Dr. Stephan Fefferman on behalf of the Internal Review Board of ARA at a banquet in the Rev. Tellström's honor. Pastor Tellstrom is the 201^st minister to receive a Truth Packet.

Pastor Patricia de Jong is the senior pastor at the 1^st Congregational Church at Berkeley, California. This church was established in 1873 and it has great influence with the students and faculty of The University of California at Berkeley. Many are members of the church. Pray that the truth packet will be a great blessing to her and that she will grow in knowledge and grace as a result of receiving this material. NEW Set of Bible Studies in the Works!

A new 24 lesson set of Bible studies called The Holy Bible Says is in the process of being completed. The new set will have 24 lessons and sell for $5 per set. I will sell these through this newsletter, the ABC stores and also sell them at the Soul Winning Made Simple Seminars. As far as I know, it will be the only SDA set of Bible lessons that includes a lesson on the sacred names. The more I study about this subject, the more I see the importance and power of using the sacred names as well as the names we are familiar with Jesus and Lord. Below is an excerpt from the lesson on Yahweh’s Law.

5. The Holy Bible says that the Ten Commandments existed in Abraham’s time hundreds of years BEFORE they were given to Moses and the Israelites on Mount Sinai. On Sinai, Yahweh reminded His people again of these great principles because they had been in Egypt for four hundred years. Fill in: “Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept my charge, My ___________, My statutes, and My _______.” Genesis 26:5.

6. The Holy Bible says that if we break any of the Ten Commandments we are “_________ of _____.” James 2:10-12. If we are hanging by a chain of ten links, it does not matter what link breaks, we still fall! Yahweh’s holy law in not called the “Ten Suggestions,” but rather the Ten Commandments!

7. The Holy Bible says that it is not the converted spiritual mind that is against the law of God but rather the “________ mind.” Romans 8:7. To be carnally minded means to follow the lusts of the fallen nature. The “carnal mind” is the unconverted mind. The spiritual mind that loves Yahshua Jesus keeps His commandments. See John 14:15.

8. The Holy Bible says that those who disobey the law of Yahweh or teach others to do so would be called “_________ in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:15-19. The word translated “least” here literally means “as nothing.”

9. The Holy Bible says that in the New Covenant, rather than being done away with as some falsely teach, the Ten Commandments are written in the “_________” of the believer. Hebrews 10:16.

Here’s an important point to remember. We can never be saved by our obedience. It is Yahshua Jesus’ obedience alone that saves us. See Romans 5:18-19. We “fall short” of Yahweh’s glory, but Yahshua Jesus did not fall short. His obedience is credited to us by faith. Here is an illustration that will help you. If a great woodsman asks his three year old son to chop down a mighty oak, even though the child is not capable of doing it, when he takes his little ax and begins to do the best he can, it counts as obedience to the Father. Likewise, when we have a mind to obey Yahweh’s commandments, our heavenly Father counts our best efforts as obedience, and His Son makes up the difference with His perfect righteousness! As we grow in grace, we can come to the point where we can truly obey the commandments because Christ lives in our heart and we have grown in grace! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
