Share Him Training at Southern Adventist University this month

On May 18 & 19, we have been asked to give a seminar on lay training at the Lay Evangelism Festival to be held at Southern University in Collegedale, TN. We have also been a featured resource for evangelism on the CD put out by Share Him Ministries.

The featured speakers for Sabbath will be NAD president Don Schneider, General Conference Vice-President Ted Wilson and Share Him Director Robert Folkenberg.

Our seminar will be in room 2 at 3:30 on Friday and in the same room at 2 pm on Sabbath. We hope we see some of our friends and supporters there!

As a result of our recent interview with Danny Shelton on 3ABN on March 28^th, we have had orders and appeals for soul winning material, especially the Soul Winning Made Simple Manual from all over the world!

There can be three persons in ONE family, and there are three persons in the ONE Godhead. “Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.” –Ephesians 3:15.

“There are three living persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized.” – Evangelism, p. 615.

“The Holy Spirit is a Person for he beareth witness with our spirits that we are the children of God.” Ibid, p. 616.

“The Holy Spirit has a personality . . . He must also be a divine Person, else He could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God.” – Ibid, p. 617.

“We are to cooperate with the three highest powers in heaven – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, - and these powers will work through us, making us workers together with God.” Evangelism, p. 617 (1905).

We want to make it very clear that TCM is a supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and that we are in good and regular standing with the organized Seventh-day Adventist Church. We do not solicit tithes from anyone and encourage members to follow the Lord’s design for supporting His organized church. I am against those who solicit tithes and who organize their own churches apart from the conference of the world church keeping the tithes. Here’s what the servant of the Lord says:

“Some have been dissatisfied, and have said, ‘I will not longer pay my tithe; for I have no confidence in the way things are managed at the heart of the work.’ But will you rob God because you think the management of the work is not right? Make your complaint, plainly and openly, in the right spirit, to the proper ones; but do not withdraw from the work of God and prove unfaithful, because others are not doing right.” 9T, p. 249.

“The message to pronounce the Seventh-day Adventist Church Babylon, and call the people of God out of her, does not come from any heavenly messenger, or any human agent inspired by the Spirit of God.” 2SM, p. 66

“I warn the Seventh-day Adventist Church to be careful how you receive every new notion and those who claim to have great light. The character of their work seems to be to accuse and to tear down.” 2SM, p. 69.

“There will always be false and fanatical movements made by persons in the church who claim to be led of God – those who will run before they are sent, and will give day and date for the occurrence of unfulfilled prophecy. The enemy is pleased to have them do this, for their successive failures and leading into false lines cause confusion and unbelief.” 2SM, p.84.

"We cannot now enter into any new organization; for this would mean apostasy from the truth." 2SM, p.389. 1905.

"True there are tares with the wheat; but Christ said He would send His angels to first gather the tares and bind them in bundles to be burned, but He will gather the wheat into His barn. I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized or broken up intro independent atoms. There is not the least consistency in this; there is not the least evidence that such a thing will be." - 2SM, pps. 68-69.

Those who keep the tithe for themselves, who go to so-called independent churches, have by their actions called the Bride of Christ a harlot and they are thieves and robbers. Trust Yahweh to finance the work without gathering up the tithes! In my 21 years as a minister, I allowed no members of any organization that was soliciting tithe funds and urging people to send them the tithe to take the pulpit. I encourage all other ministers to do the same.

The “wheat and the tares” will be in the church “till the harvest.” There is no organization on earth that does not have some tares in it – if there are people who are unconverted in it then there will be “tares.” Defective and enfeebled as it may be, and with false brethren in it as was even in Paul’s day, the remnant church organized to take the truths of the Three Angels messages to the world is still the object of Christ’s supreme regard!

Yes, there may be those who oppose the truth, or those who are unconverted. We have felt opposition to our defense of the KJV of the Bible, for the sacred name of God, for medical workers not working each Sabbath, for not ordaining woman ahead of the world church vote, and for our heavy emphasis on personal evangelism, etc. But you will never hear anyone at TCM call the Lord’s church Babylon, or solicit tithes from its treasury, or criticize its leaders. The best way to fight error is to teach the undeniable truth that can be backed by first of all, the Word of God, and then by the Spirit of Prophecy.

“The present is a time of great peril to the people of God. God is leading out a people, not an individual here and there. He has a church on the earth, that abide in the truth; and when we see, not only men, but young girls, crying out against the church, we are afraid of them. We know God has not sent them.” 2SM, p. 79.

“God’s servants must, by laboring together with Christ, roll away the CURSE that has made the church so LUKE WARM.” -- 7BC, P. 966.

“Pastors need to revise their church role and return to their biblical job description -- as a trainer of the laity. Until this happens, we can pray endlessly for the latter rain, and it will not fall. There must be action as well as prayer to restore the church to its biblical base, with laity and clergy working together as a team. 'The work of God in the earth can never be finished until the men and women comprising our church membership rally to the work and unite their efforts with those of ministers and church officers.' -- Gospel Workers, pp. 351, 352.

“In proportion to the enthusiasm and perseverance with which the work is carried forward, will be the success given.” -- PK, p. 263.

Christ intends that His ministers shall be educators of the church in gospel work. They are to teach the people how to seek and save the lost. But is this the work they are doing? Alas, how many are toiling to fan the spark of life in a church that is ready to die! How many churches are tended like sick lambs by those who ought to be seeking for the lost sheep! And all the time millions upon millions without Christ are perishing.” -- Desire of Ages, p. 825.

"When the churches become living working churches, the Holy Spirit will be given in answer to their sincere request ... Then the windows of heaven will be open for the showers of the latter rain." - E.G. White RH 2/25/1890.

“Our work has been marked out for us by our heavenly Father. We are to take our Bibles and go forth to warn the world. We are to be God’s helping hands in saving souls -- channels through which His love is day by day to flow to the perishing.” -- 9T, p.150.

“Every Church should be a training school for Christian workers.” -- CS, p. 59.

“There should be a well organized plan for the employment of workers to go into ALL our churches, large and small, to instruct the members how to labor for the upbuilding of the church, and also for unbelievers. It is training, educa tion that is needed. Those who labor in visiting the churches should give the breth ren and sisters instruction in PRACTICAL methods of doing missionary work." -- 9T, p. 117.

“Many who possess real ability are rusting from inaction because they do not know how to set themselves at work in missionary lines.” -- 6T, p.432.

“If the people are not taught how to work ... how to reach people successfully, the work will be nearly a failure.” -- 5T, p. 256.

“When we have entire, whole-hearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure, but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.” - Christian Service, p.253.
