Sharing the Gospel in Johnson City, Tennessee!

Greetings brethren! On the week-end of March 4-5, 2006 we were blessed to share divine principles of soul winning at the Johnson City Seventh-day Adventist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee. In the picture above, Pastor Paull Dixon and his lovely wife Sarah are pictured with Mary Ann and I. The seminar was truly blessed and a group was formed that will meet at the pastor’s home monthly to continue the work. A Bible worker husband and wife team hired by the church will continue the training in that church and in other ones. There were new Bible studies started before the week-end was over!

I feel the church is blessed with the current pastoral team. Pastor Paul and his wife were at every session in the front row. Pastor Paull got a Bible study started and his wife pictured at the bottom of the first column gave a powerful   testimony of how the Lord has worked in her life. When a pastor and his wife back the training and are there for the meetings leading out, the work prospers and the meetings have lasting results! Thank you Paull and Sarah for your love for the Lord and for your support of lay training!

21 Inspired Reasons to have a Soul Winning Made Simple Seminar At Your Church, and to support the work!

Here are some good reasons to have a SWMS lay training seminar at your church:

 1. “When we have entire, wholehearted consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.”  - CS, p. 253.  The seminar leaves material and picks presenters who can continue training till the “largest portion” are laborers together with the Lord.

 2. “Our confession of His faithfulness is God’s chosen agency for revealing Christ to the world. . .what will be most effective is the testimony of our own experience. . .These precious acknowledgements. . . when supported by a Christ like life, have an irresistible power that works for the salvation of souls.”    - DA, p. 347.

Those who attend are taught how to share their testimony and use this “irresistible power” to win souls for Jesus.

 3. By encouraging members to labor together with Christ, thiis seminar can help remove the Laodicean curse. “God’s servants must, by laboring together with Christ, roll away the curse that has made the church so lukewarm.” - 7BC, p. 966.

 4. “To the Gentiles Paul preached Christ as their only hope of salvation, but did not at first have anything definite to say upon the law. But after their hearts were warmed with the presentation of Christ as the gift of God to our world. . . he presented the law as the test of their obedience.” EV, pps. 230-231.  Members who attend the seminar learn that first Christ must be presented and the gospel understood. 1 Cor, 15:1-4 Paul tells us what the gospel is. Romans 5:18-19 tell us that Jesus is the second Adam and that we are saved by His obedience. The law is written in the heart when it is converted. Hebrews 10:16. We must have assurance of salvation in order tyo share it. John 6:37 and 1 John 5:9-13. This is shared at the seminar.

 5. “If the people are not taught how to work . . .how to reach people successfully, the work will be nearly a failure.”   - 5T, p. 256.

 6. “The work of God in this earth can never be finished until the men and women comprising our church membership rally to the work and unite their efforts with those of ministers and church officers.”  - 9T, p. 117.

This seminar inspires members to Rally to the work, and gives practical methods and ways to work with the minister and church officers.

 7. “When the churches become living, working churches, the Holy Spirit will be given in answer to their sincere request . . . then the windows of heaven will be open for the showers of the latter rain.” - RH 2/25/1890. Seminars like this help the church to become living, working churches.

 8. “The formation of small companies as a basis of Christian effort has been presented to me by One who cannot err.” - CS, p. 72. – This program creates small companies in the church gathered together for Christian effort to win souls. Hence, it cannot fail!

 9. “The Holy Spirit will come to all who are begging for the bread of life to give to their neighbors.”             - 6T, p. 90.  The true conversion stories in this seminar, the quotes, the testimonies all work together to inspire members to call on the Holy Spirit to help them win their neighbors to Christ. And the Holy Spirit comes as Yahweh promised!

 10. “When churches are revived, it is because some individual seeks earnestly for the blessing of God. He hungers and thirsts after God, and asks in faith, and receives accordingly. He goes to work in earnest, feeling his great dependence upon the Lord, and souls are aroused to seek for a like blessing, and a season of refreshing falls on the hearts of men. The extensive work will not be neglected. The larger plans will be laid at the right time; but personal, individual effort and interest for your friends and neighbors, will accomplish much more than can be estimated. It is for the want of this kind of labor that souls for whom Christ died are perishing.”  - Christian Service, p. 121.

If this seminar inspires ONE member to seek for the blessing of God and to go to work for Him, a whole church can be revived!

 11. “I want to say, brethren and sisters, that we must labor for the wandering where they are. You need not expect those who have the chilling influence of the world upon them to manifest anxiety for their own souls. We must manifest it for them.” - Manuscript Releases Vol. 18, page 284.

This seminar encourages each of us to be anxious for the ones we know and love – anxious enough to make sure they hear the glorious gospel!

 12. Everyone attending the seminar learns how to lead people to Christ usiing a simple gospel presentation that has worked to lead hundreds to a new birth experience.

 13. “In proportion to the enthusiasm and perseverance with which the work is carried forward, will be the success given.”  -  Prophets & Kings, p. 263. The seminar creates an enthusiasm for soul winning work as members see that there are many who are willing and eager to study the Bible with them!

14. “Through much prayer you must labor for souls, for this is the only method by which you can reach hearts. It is not your work, but the work of Christ who is by your side, that impresses hearts.” - EV, p. 342. The seminar teaches from the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy the importance of dependence on the Lord in prayer for success as a gospel worker.

15. “Our work has been marked out for us by our heavenly Father. We are to take our Bibles and go forth to warn the world. We are to be God’s helping hands in saving souls - channels through which His love is day by day to flow to the perishing.” - 9T, p. 150. The seminar informs those attending what our heavenly Father has marked out for us – that is that we be Bible workers taking our Bibles and going out to warn the world!

16. “If we would humble ourselves before God, and be kind and courteous and tenderhearted and pitiful, there would be one hundred conversions to the truth where now there is only one.”  - 9T, p. 189. Members who attend are taught to be kind and courteous and fully of pity for others. This comes from the Holy Spirit as the gospel is first understood then put into practice.

 17. “We are not to feel that the work of the gospel depends principally upon the minister. To every man God has given a work to do in connection with His kingdom. Everyone who professes the name of Christ is to be an earnest, interested worker, ready to defend the principles of righteousness. Every soul should take an active part in advancing the cause of God. Whatever our calling, as Christians we have a work to do in making Christ known to the world. We are to be missionaries, having for our chief aim the winning of souls to Christ.” – 6T, p. 427. The Soul Winning Made Simple Seminar is simply a name given to a week-end that focuses on these Bible and Spirit of Prophecy principles. The material is not of man’s devising but from Yahweh our heavenly Father! All glory to Yahshua Jesus our Lord and Savior!

 18. “Men are needed who pray to God for wisdom, and who, under the guidance of God, can put new life into the old methods of labor and can invent new plans and new methods of awakening the interest of church members in reaching the men and women of the world.”  -EV. p. 105. This seminar puts new life into old methods of labor as instructed by the servant of the Lord.

 19. “Many would be willing to work if they were taught how to begin. They need to be instructed and encouraged. Every church should be a training school for Christian workers. Its members should be taught to give Bible readings.” - CS, p. 59. This seminar helps the church to teach its members to give Bible studies as we have been instructed. This is a work for “every church.”

 20. "Each one of you may know for yourself that you have a living Saviour, that He is your helper and your God. You need not stand where you say, 'I do not know whether I am saved.' Do you believe in Christ as your personal Saviour? If you do, then rejoice" (General Conference Bulletin, April 10, 1901). This seminar helps members to have assurance of salvation based on what the Lord has done – not what we have done. Bible verses on Righteousness by faith helps us have this assurance!

 21. “I ask, How can I present this matter is it is? The Lord Jesus imparts all the powers, all the grace, all the penitence, all the inclination, all the pardon of sins, in presenting His righteousness for man to grasp by living faith--which is also the gift of God. If you would gather together everything that is good and holy and noble and lovely in man, and then present the subject to the angels of God as acting a part in the salvation of the human soul or in merit, the proposition would be rejected as treason. The idea of doing anything to merit the grace of pardon is fallacy from beginning to end. "Lord, in my hand no price I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling." {1888 816.2} Statements like this discussed make this seminar of great value to those who attend!

 22. Members are impressed over and over by the Holy Spirit’s counsel to not let this be just another seminar, but to let it be the beginning of a personal mission to allow themselves to be used by the Lord to win others as a response to Christ’s love for them from now till kingdom come! Here are 21 good reason to have a SWMS week-end at your church and 21 good reasons to support this ministry so it can go forward for the Master. Thank you for your encouragement, your prayers and your support! As the young people say, “It’s all good!” God is good – all the time!

We are told this: “It requires much wisdom to reach ministers and men of influence. But why should they be neglected as they have been by our people? These men are responsible to God just in proportion to the talents in-trusted to them. Where much is given, much will be required. Should there not be deeper study and much more prayer for wisdom that we may learn how to reach these classes? Should not wisdom and tact be used to gain these souls, who, if truly converted, will be polished instruments in the hands of God to reach others? Ev. 562, 563.
